Founded in 1855, the Sydney Law School is the first law school in Australia. It has made a remarkable contribution to the Australian public life, politics and judiciary. The Law School has an internationally valued faculty of scholars. It attracts huge number of high potential students to its undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The Law School is notable for its influential links with the judges and barristers giving lectures in core legal subjects. This 150 year old Law School has produced 41 justices of the High Court and four prime ministers. It has also produced many chief justices of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. The Law School aims to educate lawyers for elevated legal services. Currently, the Law School has approximately 100 postgraduate research students, 1500 postgraduate coursework students, and 1700 undergraduate students. The Law School places emphasis in quality oriented academic curriculum as well as delivering lectures in core areas of law such as health law, environment law, criminal law, etc.
